This is not actually going on with me, but I find it rather comical as I watch my girl friend go through this process. First off, you have to go on-line, fill out a profile, as if you were submitting your resume. After that, you submit a resume. Than, once you are all logged in you have to go and find a location. Now, finding a location means nothing, just because you probably chose that area you probably wont get chosen but you may be lucky because either way you are submitted to all of the surrounded areas. Than after two weeks of waiting and suspecting you failed at this lengthy on-line application process you get a call. You expect to get an normal interview; NO, not at Wells Fargo, actually you go in a room with 20 other people and do a group interview. Once your done, they don’t say if you did anything good or not they say, “Thank you, have a nice day, if we find you are adequate we ‘may’ be in contact with you.” At this point, you are three weeks into a process of trying to get a job. And Heck, with this economy you cant wait that long. Maybe they do this, assuming you will go get cash advance on your credit card because they know your desperate for money and then they are getting 30% interest off of you. Job security for them. Now, two weeks later my girlfriend after getting aggravated and now attending other interviews does not think Wells Fargo is interested. Finally we got the confirmation three weeks later, via ‘ E-Mail’ Sorry other candidates are more qualified. Three days after that she gets a call from Wells Fargo, saying sorry we sent that e-mail to the you by accident we do want to schedule an interview with you TODAY. So of course, my girl friend is now excited saying, “WOW, maybe they are actually going to speed things up seeing they want to do a 1 on 1 interview TODAY. She shows up, the lady interviewing shows up half an hour late. Lucy, my girlfriend, kindly is waiting and at this point expects nothing but an immediate hire for this BS. ONE HOUR interview….. at the end, the interviewer says, “Thank you for your time, if we find that you are adequate we will call you back.” Imagine this, Two applications, two interviews, almost two months later and they still haven’t decided. I dont know how they figure out their individuals, but I swear these ‘Teller’ jobs is more of a process and stress than trying to figure out our financial crisis. Shit, maybe if they would just hire, she would have a job, money to spend, and it would be one extra person doing something to benefit this economy. Funny thing, is its for a bank job. We all know now though that banks aren’t worried about money. If they become 700Billion Dollars in debt, the government will just pay it off for them. (No Problem.)
Anyways….. In to the second month, we await a call, that even if she does get hired she only gets a maximum of 20 hours a week. Funny they have such a lengthy process and strict parameters on how they hire someone, but they only give that person 20 hours a week to see if that person can perform the job GREAT otherwise, you are no longer working for them.
I thought this whole process is just funny and thought I would share it with you all. However, now it is Saturday and I am going to enjoy it!
By the way, I moved AGAIN, move number eleven, tell you about it tomorrow.
